About Us

Our company consists of two tremendous assets to the landscape design build industry.  We have as our president, Janet Gaskins and our vice president, Caroline Beane.

Janet studied biology and psychology while receiving a B.A. degree from the University of Virginia as an Echols Scholar. She received intensive training in design, horticulture and garden construction as well as a Certificate in Landscape Design from The George Washington University. She has 22 years of landscape design build experience as well. 

Caroline brings over 39 years of horticulture and landscaping experience as well as a B.S. degree from the University of MD majoring in Ornamental Horticulture and minoring in Landscape Design.  Caroline became the first woman Agriculture Horticulture extension agent in MD after working with the University of MD Co-operative Extension Service for 8 years. Caroline has worked for the Melwood Training Center, chaired the Horticulture Department at Charles County Community College and managed Denison Landscape and Nursery's Residential Division.

Usually the client has to coordinate each phase of installation within the designers, plant installers, and garden construction (hardscape) specialists’ schedules to deliver on time as promised.  Our landscape design build services give you in-house design and plant installation teams, with a short list of exclusive hardscape or garden construction contractors.  At LDI, we handle every phase of your project, which allows for efficiencies in scheduling, communication, and installation, and thereby fewer headaches for you.
